Absolutely beautiful Civil War belt buckle. This lot came out of a farm auction in Berks County, Pennsylvania. This buckle has a beautiful look and patina with a darker hue on the upper left side. Rear is properly lead filled and marked "33". I would assume this would be for the 33 Pennsylvania Regiment. Plate is slightly bent but hook and catch parts are all undamaged and still look quite good. Also included are three buttons and a dug saddle plate. Saddle plate is real but I can not make out the size, but "INCH SEAT" is clear. I do not know how related these items are, but they came together and shall remain so. This early quality belt buckle is just a real stunner. |
