Reasonable example of a scarce sword. Blade shows some intermitant darkening but no sharpening or structural damage. Nicely engraved on both sides with patriotic motif. One side shows the Savoy crest and the other is engraved with an eagle clutching the fasces is in his talons. Scabbard fittings show nice patination and no damage with a handsome crowned eagle on the drag and an airplane propeller on the ring suspension. Significant leather loss to scabbard. Handle is in nice shape with well toned surfaces, showing an eagle pommell and a full feather motif on the bottom of the crossguard. Grip wire is complete with the usual slightly loose wire here and there. All in all a nice sword that is getting tough to find.
