This is a special set of documents for the first and second classes of the iron cross, the first class of which is hand signed / autographed by General Hans von Arnim. von Arnim was of at least major general rank for the entire war until he was commander of Panzer Army Afrika. Both documents are awarded to Michael Muller who was a member of the 27th Panzer Pioneer Battalion. The 2nd class is dated on October 24, 1939, measures just under 5.5 by 8 inches (May have been trimmed as this one was once mounted and has old mounting tape on the back). It is signed by Generalleutenant u.Kdr.27.Division Bergmann (sp?) of whom I could find no information. The 1st class is dated October 20, 1941, 8.25 by just over 5.5 inches, and as mentioned earlier, is signed by von Arnim. Simply a super set.
