Drum hanger most likely dating well before WWI. Beautifully cast eagle with excessive detail to the feathering. Eagle looks Prussian when the crown is added to the overall picture. The catch is made of two swivels; The bottom allows for the eagle to protrude outwards as the bandsman is stepping out while the upper swivel allows the assembly to moce right to left. The leather hanger is nice and strong but unfortunately some ding-dong cut a corner out. This looks bad but often these are missing the leather entirely. Really an attractive piece with a beautiful eagle. |
